Welcome to Oxford U3A

Weekly talks resumed in person at Rewley House in October 2021 and we are now using Zoom to run these as hybrid events. This means that those members who feel confident about meeting up can now do so, while those members who are still cautious about attending public events or who are less mobile and no longer able to travel into Oxford can watch and hear the talks on their devices at home. Members attending Rewley House are requested to wear face masks and respect social distancing in the lecture hall.

We plan to continue hybrid talks in 2022, but will continue to monitor the rates of Covid infection and take appropriate decisions and measures to keep our members safe. Details of our winter 2022 talks can be found under the events programme.

Many of the Special Interest Groups (SIGs) have started to meet up in person whereas others are still operating and/or keeping in touch via Zoom, email, and telephone. Please see our Groups page for further details and, if you have any queries, please contact the SIGs Coordinator:  sigscoordinator@u3aoxford.org.uk

Who we are

We are an organisation of retired ‘but not retiring’ people who come together to learn (this is the original meaning of the word ‘University’). We do not run formal courses or examine or award certificates and no qualifications are necessary to join.  Click here to read more about our vision and mission.

Weekly talks are held at Rewley House on Thursdays. These are free for Oxford U3A members but you are welcome to attend as a guest for £5 (£2 for members of all other U3As).

Our events programme has complete details of forthcoming talks.

There are also several special interest groups open to new members. If you are interested in joining any of these please contact the SIGS Co-ordinator: sigscoordinator@u3aoxford.org.uk
